Carbon monoxide is considered to be the silent killer. It is undetectable to the human senses and causes drowsiness and headaches similar to flulike viruses. It is important for any residence that burns fossil fuels or wood to have a CO monitor installed in the house. Treat this alarm similar to a smoke detector. Change the batteries twice a year and replace the whole unit every five years. Just like a smoke alarm a CO alarm just could save your life.
